To add on to your post about Nealer, there were also fans saying that they were disappointed in him for "not finishing the job". People were very out of control about that while wishing harm on Shawn Thornton too. Just more examples. Obviously it is never okay to wish injury on anyone, ever.
Very much agreed.

As an on-again-off-again James Neal fan, here’s what I have to say:
Some people have gone farrrrr overboard on both ends of the spectrum.
I think we can all agree that it is never okay to wish harm or ill-will on anyone, fellow fans included. There’s a ridiculous amount of hate happening in the tag right now and it’s not okay coming from anyone.
Saying you’re glad Neal has a concussion is stupid. Flat out, no way around it. That being said, saying that the people saying these things should go play in traffic is just as bad. Wishing harm on anyone is not okay. You can’t just pick and choose who isn’t allowed to be shit on.
I’d also like to point out, I specifically remember when Neal kneed Brad Marchand in the head, there were quite a few James Neal fans saying “Good! He deserves it.”
MAKE. UP. YOUR. MINDS.
The hypocrisy around here needs to stop. Be the bigger, more mature person. Show the other teams that we’re completely capable of acting rationally and vocalizing our thoughts in a civil manner. Are we a family or not? Because if we are, we need to start acting like it.
The hockey world has lost a great person today. But heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Life isn’t fair sometimes and no one wanted this to end the way it did. Depression is not a joke. Give help to those who need it right now because when you finally decide to do something it may be too late. Terry is playing for God’s team now, but his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, teammates and anyone who got the chance to know and love Terry. Rest in Paradise sweet angel. ❤
